Owners of Ste. Sault Marie Physical Therapy Practice Found Guilty of Health Care Fraud
Posted On: 4/13/2011A Sault Ste. Marie couple who owned and operated a Physical Therapy business were sentenced to jail today after being found guilty on charges of health care fraud.Aaron and Michelle Clark owned Superior Physical Therapy in Sault Ste. Marie.
Aaron Clark will spend two years in federal prison with 3 years of supervised release afterward and has been ordered to pay $345,000 in restitution to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Medicare.
Michelle Clark will spend 90 days in prison, with a year of supervised release and also pay $345,000 in restitution.
Aaron Clark, who was the physical therapist at Superior Physical Therapy, admitted to felony health care fraud in a written plea agreement.
Michelle Clark was the biller at the business and admitted to a misdemeanor count of theft from a health care benefit program.
The two were sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids.
